The Bouncers are a pair of characters in the LittleBigPlanet series, debuting as minor antagonists in LittleBigPlanet. They're the black-suited tough guys who work for Ze Dude.

Profile[]

Physical Appearance[]

Both Bouncers look identical to one another, being white and broad-shouldered. They wear tuxedos and sunglasses, and have beards. Although they do have arms (and in one case, a golden bracelet with diamonds), these are usually obscured, giving them a comedic, hunched posture.

Personality[]

Not much is known of The Bouncer's personality traits, as they collectively only have one line in the entire game. However, they're shown to serve Ze Dude constantly, and are likely bodyguards for him. This is especially evident in that they're the first to attack Sackboy in the boss battle against them and Ze Dude.

History[]

LittleBigPlanet[]

A Bouncer first appears near the end of Lowrider, stopping the player in their car at what appears to be some sort of Ze Dude-themed toll booth. Ze Dude challenges Sackboy to a race, and the Bouncer functions as the race's starter. The race ultimately gets cut short when Ze Dude accidentally speeds right into a river canal.

Both Bouncers appear at once at the end of The Construction Site, and attack Sackboy with massive, fireball-launching arm cannons. Sackboy is able to reflect these fireballs back at them, ultimately putting the two in their place. They're both seen after the fight, smoldering alongside Ze Dude. Humorously, they're still in their default pose, unlike Ze Dude himself.

One of The Bouncers later appears in The Collector's Lair, imprisoned alongside Ze Dude and Mags The Mechanic. When freed from confinement, the three will drive away in Uncle JalapeƱo's car. A Bouncer also appears as one of the characters surrounding Craftworld in the game's ending.

A Bouncer appears in Patients are a Virtue, alongside many other characters from the first game. However, he is in a straitjacket, wears specs instead of shades, has a pink rosette pinned to his chest, and a ventriloquist rabbit puppet on one of his arms. It is likely he was sent to Eve's Asylum for the Mentally Alternative due to being afflicted with The Infection.

Boss Fight[]

The Bouncers make up the first two phases of Ze Dude's boss fight in the first LittleBigPlanet game. As a whole, the trio makes for the third boss, coming after Sheriff Zapata and before The Terrible Oni. They're fought at the end of The Construction Site.

Both Bouncers will glide across the ceiling of the arena, using their fireball launchers to bombard Sackboy with hazards. The player must grab a reflecting pad and slide it into the cascade of fireballs to make them ricochet back at The Bouncers. Both Bouncers violently explode when hit. The first Bouncer only has one blaster, while the other has two and fires slightly faster.

Trivia[]

Bouncer's Dog

The Bouncer's dog.

  • In Lowrider, The Bouncer that stops Sackboy's car is accompanied by a black, fanged guard dog. This canine creature appears nowhere else in the game.
  • The second Bouncer only appears in The Construction Site's boss battle and its aftermath, and isn't referenced anywhere else in the game.
