Music Sequencer Featurette

The Music Sequencer is an item introduced in LittleBigPlanet 2 intended to allow creating custom music with a wide range of music instruments from the drums to piano.

Usage[]

This item is like a sequencer microchip but is used for different functions. Once started it will move in the time signature desired. When activated a line will move across the circuit-board and when the line is on top of a logic chip it will activate it. Generally, only circuit boards appear.

Sequencer Instrument Incorrect Place LBP3

A Sequencer Instrument placed somewhere other than a music sequencer in LittleBigPlanet 3.

Sequencer Instruments only work on Music Sequencers. If placed anywhere else, even a regular sequencer, they instead show a prohibitory sign overlayed on a musical note symbol.

There is a blank spot for a sticker to be placed on the Music Sequencer. It is also possible to use the Color Wheel to change the color of a Music Sequencer to a different color than the default red. Its circuit board and output lines change color, though the sequencer itself doesn't actually change color.

Unlike regular music objects, undoing/rewinding will cause the music sequencer to stop playing its music.

Thermometer[]

The Music Sequencer has its own thin, blue thermometer that is filled up by using complex instruments on it. Only unique instruments count towards the thermometer, and similar instruments, such as the various sign waves, and the pianos, seem to only count one in the same group, allowing for usage of nearly identical instruments without raising the thermometer further. Simple instruments such as simple wave patterns and the e-piano don't seem to impact the thermometer unless it is already partially filled up. Others, such as the Baiyon Guildford, take up more than a quarter by itself. Instruments use less of this thermometer in LittleBigPlanet PS Vita compared to the other games. If this thermometer overheats, the game will not play the music. An error message will appear: "There are too many instruments on this sequencer! Try removing or replacing some. Check the blue thermometer to the left to see how expensive each instrument you place is."

Trivia[]

  • Music-sequencers start out with a .5 added to the inside-circuit's height. Resizing it will revert it back to normal.
