Pod (PS3)

The Pod is the starting location for every player when they have loaded LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, and LittleBigPlanet 3.

Players reside in the Pod. Within the Pod, the user can decorate their Pod, invite other players, and socialize with them. The Pod Computer is placed at the center of the Pod. It is used to navigate and access the main elements of LittleBigPlanet, including Story Mode, Create Mode, downloaded levels, and the Community.

Games[]

LittleBigPlanet[]

In LittleBigPlanet, the Pod is given to you following completion of the Introduction level. From it, the player can see Craftworld, My Moon and the InfoMoon.

LittleBigPlanet (PSP)[]

The Pod does not have a large role in this game, as selecting a level is done without it. Instead, it is a place that can be selected in the main menu. In it, the user can change their avatar, read in-game news, or customize their Sackperson in the Pod level. The Pod level is a small cardboard space where the player can change Sackboy's clothing. A button to the right allows the player to enter the main menu.

LittleBigPlanet 2[]

In LittleBigPlanet 2, the Pod is given to Sackboy from Larry Da Vinci. From the view the player can see Craftworld and My Moon.

LittleBigPlanet PS Vita[]

This is a wider version of the Pod. The pod computer is a PS Vita instead of a wireless controller. The Pod Computer is accessed by tapping one of the three planets, rather than pressing the menu button.

LittleBigPlanet Karting[]

The Pod in this game has a more circular shape than the Pod in previous games., It has a metal torch on top and a wide view from the front. Unlike other LittleBigPlanet games, you cannot move around.

LittleBigPlanet 3[]

In LittleBigPlanet 3, the Pod from LittleBigPlanet 2 returns. However, you are able to switch between playing in the Pod as Sackboy, OddSock, Toggle, or Swoop. You can customize their respective Costumes within the Pod.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure[]

In Sackboy: A Big Adventure, the Pod is on the world map; instead of acting as a hub, it is used to travel between themes. The Pod has a more detailed appearance with blue sides a round plastic top that looks like a lid of some sort it also has some decorative bunting hanging above the windows on the outside.

Appearance[]

The Pod is a large cardboard structure, that has a shape of a spaceship. Three windows can be seen: one on each of its sides, and one behind the Pod Computer, showing the planets in the main menu. There is a tube at the ceiling, from which Sackpeople pop out when entering the Pod.

The Pod can be decorated with Stickers and Decorations players have collected, and can save how your Pod can look using the Popit Menu. To use the Pod Computer to access main features such as Create Mode, step in the middle of the PlayStation device that is docked in the middle of your Pod (a DualShock 3 in most games, PlayStation Vita system in LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, or DualShock 4 in LittleBigPlanet 3 on the PlayStation 4). In LittleBigPlanet (PSP), a button appears in place of the Pod Computer.

Notes[]

  • The Pod was originally called the Puter, as shown in some concept art.
  • It is possible to put materials and objects inside the Pod via certain glitches. The Pod can be saved with these objects inside it, and can be loaded alongside the objects. It is recommended to save an empty Pod before performing these glitches, as resetting the Pod will not get rid of the objects.
    • The Pod is actually a level and can be obtained as an object in Create Mode via glitches. Capturing a Pod in Create Mode allows it to be saved and loaded as your actual Pod, allowing objects in the captured Pod to be loaded as well.
  • An unused Pod called the Clubhouse Pod can be found in the debug menu of LittleBigPlanet3. It contains a limited create mode and is much wider than the standard Pod.
